This video is a result of our research project for CMN2173. We looked into the use of YouTube as a mechanism for advertising. From the early start of YouTube to today’s uploaded content there have been many changes including the influence of the corporate systems. YouTube has changed from a place where you share your experiences to corporations telling you what your experiences should be. Our documentary explains the power and means of advertising for today’s corporations and the effect this has on amateur video producers and consumers. YouTube has built up users trust over the years and this has become a powerful tool that corporations have taken advantage of. Users have now become the unofficial ambassadors for these businesses.
