About Hide and Seek

Hello we are Hide and Seek. What we hope to fulfill through this blog is enlightenment. To help enlighten audiences about what is on the Internet, more specifically YouTube. We wish to increase media literacy and provide readers with the tools to be able to distinguish what is and what isn’t. Our blog will focus on the corporate involvement within YouTube and how subtly they are doing it.  We also focus on how advertising is not always in the most obvious of forms.  From corporate sponsored videos to the evolution of YouTube as a whole, we wish to discuss these topics and more.


Under the Mask:

Gary Chen – I am a fourth year University Student currently studying commerce with a specialization in accounting. Coming from a corporate background it is nice to view these topics in a consumers point of view. I have great interests in social theories and discussions. I believe in being able to think critically and to approach things in different perspectives to truly learn.


Allison Leung - As a fourth year student here at the University of Ottawa, I am studying for my Bachelor of Commerce and majoring in Finance.  This communications course is an elective I decided to take to learn something outside of the Faculty of Management.  Throughout this course, I hope to gain an insight into the advertising realm from a different perspective than the financial side.
